How do you answer the age old question "What is a Biomed?" Of course you can always read scholarly articles on the subject, or listen to *sea stories* from the old-timers. But, there's a better way. The photos here tell the story of our profession visually, from the unique perspective of those who actually live it.
So the next time you are asked to explain what you do, rather than watching eyes glaze over as you delve in way over the listener's head, just point them here and let them see for themselves.
There were a lot of great photos entered this year, and we wish we could award prizes to everyone. About the winners, it somehow seems appropriate that the winner of *Best Photo* works for an organization dedicated to restoring sight. On the other hand, the *Peoples Choice* winner struck a resonant chord with biomeds attending the MD Expo ... and who disguised as a mild mannered BMET at great metropolitan hospital ...
We hope you all had as much fun with this contest as we did. So without further ado, here are the results:
We would like to express our thanks to the contest judges. It couldn't have been easy to pick the winners from among the many excellent photos that were sent in.
